American Airlines Plane Fire at Denver Airport

An American Airlines plane caught fire on Thursday, March 13, while it was parked at a gate at Denver International Airport in the United States, forcing the deployment of slides for passengers to evacuate quickly. The incident occurred at gate C38 and a series of videos posted on social media showed the moment when smoke surrounded the aircraft and passengers were standing on the wing before evacuating.

On the plane, which had 178 people on board, the fire was triggered on the runway after it made an emergency landing. The Federal Aviation Administration reported that American Airlines flight 1006, which was flying from Colorado Springs to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, experienced engine vibrations, causing one engine to catch fire while taxiing to the gate.

Both the FAA and the airline confirmed that there were no injuries in the incident. American Airlines stated in a statement that the aircraft experienced a motor-related issue after landing, and that firefighters managed to extinguish the fire by nightfall.
